Sociedad Potosina

Founded as La Lonja Potosina in 1851 and as Sociedad Potosina in 1868 the Club is the oldest still functioning in Mexico while maintaining its purpose for building lasting relationships between the Members and promoting the arts and culture as well as financial and industrial development.

The white marble Grand Staircase receives visitors to the Club while guarding the entrance to the Member’s Bar which offers Mexican and Spanish cuisine to Members and guests. The library, family and TV room, co-working space and drawing room can be found on the ground floor, as well as the new “Bar Cotillón”, a renovated space offering à la carte service for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a mixology menu with 155 different cocktails, one for each year the Club has been operating. Reciprocal guests enjoy a 20% discount for up to four persons in the Bar Cotillón.

Event halls for up to 600 guests can be found on the first floor, alongside private function rooms for up to 100 guests. The Ballroom, with its Oaxacan copper and Limoges porcelain chandelier, can fit any event for up to 200 guests.

Annual Club events include the Baile de Los Lanceros (the Club’s carnival ball) and the Anniversary Ball, as well as monthly cultural conferences, art exhibitions, and themed dinners.

The Club has an agreement with nearby hotels Panorama, City Centro, and Palacio de San Agustín and accommodation for reciprocal guests can be booked through the Club’s concierge.
